We will be bringing awareness to cancer patients in need of affordable transportation to their treatments. This aspect is very frequently overlooked as we all focus on the actual treatment costs, but not the means to get there. The transportation element tends to take a "back seat" but is also a heavy and consistent cost to cancer patients. Not everyone has a car or someone to give them a ride.... Desmond's Pink Tuesday foundation's mission is to help alleviate this cost.

The SD Foundation hosts its bowling FUNdraiser, Strike Out Poverty, one Sunday each year. Don’t worry, it’s never on a Sunday with a Packers game. This year it is Sunday, April 19th beginning at 12:00pm at JB’s on 41 4040 S 27th St, Milwaukee, WI 53221. The foundation held its fourth annual Strike Out Poverty in 2018 and, it was a sold out event. A family-friendly event, bowling is a fantastic way to spend time with immediate and extended family. It’s also a wonderful way to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in a while and do something fun with coworkers. Lace up a snazzy pair of bowling shoes and engage in friendly competition at this FUNdraiser for the Social Development Foundation! Past attendees will share that this afternoon event is filled with laughter, good-natured banter, and that amazing feeling you get from helping someone less fortunate than you. So grab a ball, try to keep it out of the gutter, sign up, and provide hope to Milwaukee County residents living in poverty. If you cannot attend, we invite you to help us Strike Out Poverty by providing an item for the Silent Auction or by providing a donation to the SD Foundation. Please contact LaToya Jones (414.906.2823) to learn more about how you can support the mission of the SD Foundation.
